01 | Trout Lake - Northern Minnesota

Fish: bluegill, burbot, hybrid sunfish, lake trout, northern pike, pumpkinseed, rock bass, smallmouth bass, tullibee (cisco), walleye, yellow perch, white sucker. Info from MN DNR website.

My family’s planning a fishing trip up to Trout Lake later this summer (perhaps in August). The plan is to portage in from Lake Vermilion and canoe and fish for a couple days. I’ll be blogging about it so stay tuned!

02 | Katherine Lake - Northern Wisconsin

Location: Oneida County, Hazelhurst, Wisconsin

Size: 524 acres

Fish: largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, walleye, musky, panfish. Info from WI DNR website.

I’ve driven past this lake a thousand times on my way up to the Minocqua area but I’ve never actually explored it. This is the year!

03 | Otter Lake - Northern Wisconsin

Location: Lincoln County, Harrison, Wisconsin

Size: 34 acres

Fish: northern pike, largemouth bass, panfishInfo from WI DNR website.

This tiny little lake is tucked away in the Harrison Hills area. There’s even a hiking trail that circles the entire lake and a small beach area as well.
