Rock Ridge Apple Orchard
The Apple Orchard
The leaves have just started to change here in Wisconsin! I truly love this time of year. It’s as if the whole countryside turns into one giant watercolor painting. Reds, oranges, and yellows blur together, lining the roads and up the hillsides.
As I mentioned before in my fall goals post, I missed the best part of fall last year. So this year, I’m determined to make up for it! One of the things on my list was to go apple picking. To me, apple picking is the epitome of fall. So I gathered up my family members, grabbed my basket, and headed out to Rock Ridge Orchard, just 30 minutes southwest of Wausau, Wisconsin.
There are acres and acres of apple trees at Rock Ridge Orchard. Honeycrisp, McIntosh, and Cortland were the three main ones they had available. After learning about the different types of apples from the staff, I ended up buying a bag full of Cortland. Now I can make either an apple pie or an apple crisp!
Thank you, Rock Ridge, for a lovely fall afternoon!
