5 Things to Do in Wausau, Wisconsin This Spring

April 12, 2018

01 | Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum

Even though I’m not a huge museum person, I’ve always loved wandering throughout the Leigh Yawkey. It’s such a calming environment and they usually have really cool exhibitions on display. This spring, from March 3 to May 27, 2018, the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum has an exhibition on fifty seldom-seen images shot by some of National Geographic’s most renowned photographers. How cool does that sound?!

02 | Downtown Wausau Dining Week

This is a really fun way to discover new restaurants in town! Participating restaurants will feature a three-course fixed-price menu for both lunch and dinner from April 16th to April 20th, 2018.

03 | Go on a bike ride on the Mountain Bay Trail

Take advantage of a warm spring day and go for a bike ride on the Mountain Bay Trail. Keep in mind, you must have a state trail pass if you’re 16 years or older. It costs $5 per day or $25 for an annual pass.

04 | Have a picnic in one of Wausau's parks.

What better way to kick off summer than with a spring picnic?! A few of Wausau’s popular parks are Robert Monk Garden, Marathon Park, and Oak Island.

05 | Tansy Hill Barn Bazaar

Tansy Hill Farm is hosting their second annual Barn Bazaar on Saturday, May 19th, 2018 from 9 – 5. There will be food trucks, live music, vintage treasures, and much more!
