Kayaking Through The Fall Colors
It has been quite a rainy fall this year but these last few days have been really beautiful. The temperatures have warmed up and the sun finally decided to come back out. I figured I should take advantage of this gorgeous fall weather (considering what the weekend forecast looks like) so I drove to a nearby lake.
As soon as I arrived, I knew this was going to be one of those nights. The lake was perfectly calm, the shoreline was rich with fall colors and an eagle swooped up into one of the pines. I put my kayak on my shoulder and hauled it down to the shoreline, eager to get out onto the water.
It turned out there wasn’t one, but two eagles and I had such a fun time trying to capture them soaring through the air. I was also the only one on the lake the entire evening! It made for a very peaceful night.
I love going on these little kayaking adventures! I always come home feeling inspired.
The kayak that I paddle is called the Rio, an ultra-lightweight kayak from Eddyline. At only 35 lbs. the Rio gives me the ability to go on these solo adventures. I can easily haul it on my own without needing anyone to assist me. Read more about the Rio in this blog post!
