Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison, Wisconsin

August 13, 2019

Located just a few miles from downtown Madison is Olbrich Botanical Gardens, a 16-acre property bursting with colorful flowers, small ponds, and an ornate Thai Pavillion. We spent a couple of hours here one afternoon and had such a wonderful time!

The outdoor gardens are free and open daily. It’s the perfect place to escape the bustling city and enjoy some beautiful scenery. For $2, you can also visit their indoor, tropical conservatory (free on Wed. and Sat. from 10-noon). The conservatory is a great place to come on a cold, winters day!

I really enjoyed wandering through the gardens and photographing the various flowers. It made for such a pleasant afternoon adventure!

Photography Tip | All of these photos were taken with my Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens ($125 on Amazon). Most of my settings were at f/2.0, 1/3200, ISO 100.
