Timms Hill

October 15, 2019

One of my favorite places in northern Wisconsin is Timms Hill, a county park located near the little town of Ogema. At 1,951 feet, Timms Hill is the highest point in Wisconsin and a beautiful spot to view the fall colors.

A short hike from the parking lot will bring you to an observation tower where you can climb to the top and take in the surrounding landscape. As you look south, you’ll see Bass Lake with High Point Village at the far end.

Bass Lake is a 20-acre lake with public access. The boat landing is at the south end off of County Road RR and the small beach is on the north end off of the one-way entrance into the park (see the map below).

In addition to the observation tower, there are many miles of hiking trails, and in the winter, you can go cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

You can access the park year-round, however, during the winter months (November – April), it’s walk-in access only. There’s no cost to visit.
