Woodboro Lakes Wildlife Area

May 7, 2020

Located in northern Wisconsin, just 10 minutes west of Rhinelander, is a place called Woodboro Lakes Wildlife Area. It’s a 3,000-acre section of public land with small, shallow lakes, a babbling creek, and an extensive logging road that runs throughout the property (plus a ton of other trails!). The other day, I decided to explore a bit and ended up by this beautiful creek! It was so peaceful.

I’ve added a few helpful resources below. You’ll find a map of the trail system, the overall property map, and the camping info (camping is allowed between September 1 and December 31). You can also see a detailed master plan of the property here.

This is a great place to explore if you’re looking to get out in nature and enjoy some peace and quiet!
